Beatsteaks is the self-titled seventh studio album by the Beatsteaks . It was released on August 1, 2014.

prehistory

After drummer Thomas Götz broke his skull when he fell down stairs in August 2012, it was unclear for a long time whether the band could continue playing as before. Because Götz soon recovered, the accident did not mean the abrupt end for the Beatsteaks, but according to singer Arnim it changed the self-perception of the band. “We suddenly realized how finally everything is and how lucky we are. [...] Accordingly, we are continuing today without being cramped. I think you can clearly hear this freedom in the songs, ”he said in an interview with Thomas Clausen. Since the recordings for the album only took ten days, the Beatsteaks didn't want to spend any more time naming the album and simply named it after themselves.

Singles

The first single from the album is Gentleman of the Year . A video for the song was posted on YouTube on June 26, 2014 . This was followed by Make A Wish , which appeared on September 26, 2014 with 4 extra tracks as a 7-inch vinyl single, and Everything Went Black , for which the scouting team created a video, which was published on November 14, 2014 on YouTube.
