Launched is the second studio album by the Beatsteaks . It was released in 1999 by Epitaph Records.

Origin of the album title

The title Launched is an idea by producer Uwe Sabirowsky. Peter Baumann on this: “First of all, it sounds cool. The name actually comes from our producer, because we never thought about what the thing should be called. [...] 'Launched' sounds nice, looks nice when written, and its meaning corresponds to our hopes. "

Music track

The song Kings of Metal contained on the CD is a cover of the American heavy metal band Manowar . Peter Baumann explains the creation of the cover as follows: “It was created from a flax factory in the rehearsal room. Our singer Arnim thought the lyrics were just brilliant. [...] Instead of covering a pop song with heavy guitars, we just do it the other way around. "

It is the first Beatsteaks album on Epitaph Records . A second edition of the LP was released in 2008 and contains a download code for the MP3 version of the album. It is also the first Beatsteaks album with Thomas Götz on drums and the last with Alexander Rosswaag on bass.

The hidden track , which can be heard after the end of Rock'n'Roll , is a compilation of various recordings from the Beatsteaks rehearsal room.
