Tobias Rieser from Klangkarussell

Klangkarussell is an Austrian producer - duo in the field of electronic music . It consists of the DJs Tobias Rieser and Adrian Held from Salzburg .

Career

Tobias Rieser initially worked as a solo artist under the name of Klangkarussell. Adrian Held, on the other hand, produced electronic music under the artist name herald and i , which is an anagram for his real name. In 2011 the two artists formed the duo "Heldenklang" and produced their first songs together. To avoid confusion as to who was hiding behind which name, they soon announced that they would now be producing and releasing music together under the name Klangkarussell. In January 2014 her debut album and a world tour were announced, which lasted until September 2015.

Sun dance

Klangkarussell was the instrumental Sundance known that in autumn 2011 on the music portal SoundCloud published and the online music magazine in February 2012 trndmusik.de ge blogging was. From this point on, Sonnentanz was posted by other blogs and online magazines and reached the sales charts in German-speaking countries in August 2012. After the piece was also released on CD on September 14, 2012, it reached the top 5 in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. It was then released in other European countries and even became a number one hit in the Netherlands . With YouTube the video was Sonnentanz end of June 2013 called more than 9 million copies. In August 2013, the Austrian duo released a vocal version of the song together with soul singer Will Heard , which reached number 3 in the British charts under the title Sonnentanz (Sun Don't Shine) .

In March 2013, the Dutch presenter Domien Verschuuren published a video on YouTube in which he documented that Sonnentanz was partially mixed from finished loops from the Nu Jazz City sample package. The record company Universal Records , with which Klangkarussell is under contract, responded by blocking the video. In the meantime, however, a similar video, which traces the production method, has been made and published by another YouTube user.

The album network was described by Tshepo Mokoena of the British newspaper The Guardian as a mixed bag of wannabe summer hits and rated 3 out of 5 stars. On the accompanying video you can see a roofer climbing a high-rise building, which is life-threatening.

In autumn 2014, Klangkarussell received the European Border Breakers Award .

Trivia

Before his breakthrough as a DJ, Tobias Rieser also tried his hand at football and played for SV Grödig from 1994 to 2011 . He came to a professional use in the second division game against FC Wacker Innsbruck on August 2, 2008, when he came on in the 76th minute for Dietmar Berchtold .
