Sugar ( engl. , Sugar ') is the second album of the German DJs Robin Schulz .

Creation and artwork

Most of the pieces on the album were written by Robin Schulz in cooperation with other often changing authors. The German producer trio around Junkx (consisting of: Dennis Bierbrodt, Jürgen Dohr and Guido Kramer) contributed to seven pieces and therefore most of the songs on the album, and authors also contributed to individual pieces. With the exception of one title, all of Schulz's pieces were produced in collaboration with constantly changing co-producers. Only the song World Turns Gray was not produced by Schulz, here he only made a remix. Mixing and mastering was done by Junkx and Schulz. The album was released under the music labels Tonspiel and Warner Music Group . On the cover of the album - in addition to the artist name and album title - Schulz's upper body can be seen wearing a hooded sweater . A skyline is reflected on his upper body .

Publication and promotion

Sugar was first published on September 25, 2015 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland . The album consists of 15 new studio recordings. In addition to the regular edition, a special iTunes version was published at the same time . This includes an additional SUGAR (Continuous Album Mix) with a length of over 50 minutes.

In order to promote the songs and the album, a live appearance followed during prime time during the Echo Awards 2015 . Robin Schulz and Ilsey performed live with headlights on German television for the first time during a medley by Schulz . At the end of July 2015, Sugar was the official promotional song for the ProSieben prime-time advertising.

content

The album consists of 15 newly recorded tracks and, like its predecessor, contains a mixture of new tracks and remixed versions of already published tracks. All lyrics are in English. Musically, the songs move in the field of electronic dance music . In Sugar ( Baby Bash ), Pride ( Marvin Gaye ), Save Tonight ( Eagle Eye Cherry ) and World Turns Gray (Princess Chelsea) is cover versions and remix version of previously published pieces by other artists. The rest are new titles from Robin Schulz. Compared to its predecessor Prayer , this album contains more new pieces than remixes.
