Corinna Spies (born April 22, 1950 in Hamburg ) is a German journalist and presenter .

Life

Corinna Spies is the daughter of the journalist Walter Spies and the documenter Ingeborg Spies. She is the great niece of the opera singer Martha Blech-Frank . She grew up with two brothers in Hamburg and attended grammar school in Graefelfing in Upper Bavaria until 1968 and then the Lee Mason language school in Birmingham, England . She lives in Upper Bavaria and has a son.

Activity as a journalist

From 1970 Corinna Spies worked as a reporter , editor and presenter, mainly for radio and television of the Bavarian Radio in Munich, initially for current news magazines and features in radio and TV programs as well as for reporting in the Tagesschau and the daily topics . From 1985 Corinna Spies worked in the Documentation / Feature editorial team at Bavarian TV . From 2001 to 2015 Corinna Spies took over the management of the reportages editorial team of Bavarian TV and was, among other things, responsible for the series “ On Location - Die Reportage ”.

Corinna Spies has been one of the moderators of the “alpha-Forum” series of talks since the educational channel ARD-alpha was founded in 1998 (formerly BR-alpha). Her interlocutors from politics, society, science and culture have so far included Hildegard Hamm-Brücher , Joachim Gauck , Udo Di Fabio , André Glucksmann and Rosemarie Fendel .

From 1998 to 2011 Corinna Spies was an honorary member of the staff council of Bayerischer Rundfunk.

Union activity

Corinna Spies was a volunteer in the media department of the United Services Union ver.di from 1989 to 2010 , most recently as Vice Chairwoman of the Bavarian Association. Her main topics were internal freedom of broadcasting , media policy and equality .

Awards

1974: Kurt Magnus Prize of the ARD .

2009: Award of the State Medal for special services to the Bavarian economy by the Deputy Prime Minister of Bavaria, Martin Zeil .
