Michelle Leonard

Michelle Leonard (born June 5, 1973 ) is a singer and songwriter . The German with British roots has lived and worked in Berlin since 2013 . As an author and co-author, Leonard has written successful hits for many international and national artists, which have achieved gold and platinum status several times. She became internationally known through her work with Aurora and Paul van Dyk , as well as through her collaboration as Solamay with Robin Schulz . As a songwriter she is under contract with BMG Rights Management .

Biography & work

Michelle Leonard grew up in Germany and attended British schools there. At the age of 16 she released her first single, a cover version of Twin Peak's Are We Falling . She signed EMI Music Publishing when she was 17. Feel So Perfect , one of Michelle's first songs, became the title track of a Europe-wide C&A campaign and became a radio hit. Many other songs by Leonard were used in various commercials, including for Ax, RMS (Radio Marketing Services), Ford Ka and Vodafone Germany (Aurora - Running With The Wolves ).

As a songwriter, Michelle Leonard is responsible for various hits by various national and international artists. Her greatest successes include Auroras Running With The Wolves, Rooftop by Nico Santos and Love Is You by Thomas Godoj .

In 2005 Leonard worked on the song Instant Replay with Such a Surge on their album Alpha . In November of the same year her musical Electric Society premiered in Cologne.

In the eighth season of the talent show Popstars , which aired from August 2009 , she was a member of the jury. In November of the same year her single Where Did We Go Wrong from the soundtrack of the film Zweiohrküken had its TV premiere. In December 2009, Leonard's debut album Fragile was released.

Leonard is a lecturer at various music academies in the field of popular music , including the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg since 2005, Columbia College Chicago and the SRH University of Popular Arts (hdpk) in Berlin. In 2011 she founded the publishing house "DOLSIRA Music" as an edition from Universal Music Publishing and in 2018 the edition "EERA" "at BMG Rights Management.

In 2015 she founded her own solo project "Solamay", which has received multiple platinum status. She is best known under this stage name through her collaboration with Alex Mattson and Robin Schulz .
