Aurora (* 15. June 1996 in Stavanger as Aurora Aksnes ) is a Norwegian singer , songwriter and record producer .

Career

Aurora Aksnes became famous for her song Running with the Wolves . The US singer and songwriter Katy Perry praised her as a promising young talent. On the Norwegian broadcaster NRK P3 , Aurora Aksnes was nominated as the best Norwegian newcomer of 2014 for the P3 Gull music award. The song Running with the Wolves was used as theme music in seasons four and five of the series “Wolfblood - Metamorphosis with the Full Moon” and in Germany as background music for Vodafone advertisements. Her world tour takes her to Berlin in Germany . She has published her music on Decca Records , Glassnote Records and Petroleum Records, among others . She is currently under contract with the Graceful Sounds label. Her song Conqueror is also used in the video game FIFA 16 and the song Under Stars is used in the credits of Mass Effect: Andromeda .

She also works as a songwriter for other artists. For example, with In the Light, a song from her pen can be found on the 2015 album Crystal Sky by the German singer Lena Meyer-Landrut .

On November 21, 2015, she made a musical appearance on the German late night show Inas Nacht .

In November, she recorded a cover version of the Oasis song Half the World Away for a commercial for the British department store chain John Lewis . So she made it to number eleven on the British charts .

For the production of the Brazilian telenovela 'Deus Salve o Rei' (God save the King) she sang the traditional song ' Scarborough Fair ' as the theme song .

On September 28th, 2018 she released her first EP, Infections of a Different Kind - Step 1 . On January 24, 2019, Aksnes released the single Animal , which she had already played in concerts before it was released. On April 5th, 2019 she released the second single The Seed from her upcoming third studio album A Different Kind of Human - Step 2, which she sang live for the first time in 2018 during the “ Lollapalooza ” festival in Brazil. With The River , the last single of the new album followed on May 10th, which she released shortly afterwards on June 7th, 2019.

In November 2019, Aurora was the background singer for the song Where No One Was in the film Frozen II .

In an interview, she announced that she was already working on two more albums and plans to release them in 2020/2021.

On May 14th, Aksnes started the era of the next album with the lead single Exist for Love .
