P3 Gull
P3 Gull ( German : P3 Gold ) is a Norwegian music award that has been presented annually by the radio station NRK P3 since 2013.
history
In June 2013 the radio station NRK P3 announced that it would award a music prize for the first time on November 29, 2013. The inspiration for the award were the prizes already distributed in Denmark and Sweden, both of which are named P3 Guld . The aim of the event was given to summarize the past music year and to strengthen Norwegian music. Initially, the program was broadcast in the subsidiary program NRK3 , in 2018 the program switched to NRK1 .
The winners in the categories “Song of the Year” and “Live Artist of the Year” are determined by the audience. The two other categories, ie “Newcomer of the Year” and the P3 Prize, are selected by a jury.

The newspaper Dagsavisen called the award in 2018 a "good alternative to the Spellemannprisen ". She stated that, in contrast to the Spellemann Prize, the award ceremony was limited to popular music and that the prize was a “youth prize”. The show won several awards at the Gullruten TV Prize , including in the “Best Director” category.
