biography

Magnus Høiberg began his career as a club DJ and under his first name Final he represented his home country at the DMC World DJ Championship in the second half of the 2000s. After that he also started as a remixer and music producer. At first he mainly remixed club hits and with increasing success he also created remixes and edits for pop stars like Lana Del Rey , Jeremih , 2 Chainz and Miguel . A first EP with their own songs with the title Mirror Maru was released in 2012, followed a year later by the second EP Wedding Bells , which reached a top 10 position in the US dance album charts.

A direct collaboration on Ludacris ' Song Party Girls brought the American a minor hit in the rap charts in 2014. A year later, Ariana Grande sang the song Adore with Cashmere Cats and gave the Norwegian a hit in the US singles charts . Other celebrities then helped with his LP debut: on the album with the title 9 , Kehlani , The Weeknd , Ty Dolla Sign , Camila Cabello and Jhené Aiko worked alongside Grande . In May 2017, it entered the US charts and reached number 14 in its home country of Norway. The single Trust Nobody was a small hit in the British charts and was awarded a gold record in the US even without a placement . Other songs got international attention. In 2018 he joined the dance hit Miss You with Major Lazer and Tory Lanez.

After the many collaborations, Cashmere Cat released the album Princess Catgirl in 2019 exclusively with his own solo pieces with Benny Blanco as co-producer.
