Cezinando

Cezinando (* 1995 in Oslo ; real name Kristoffer Cezinando Karlsen ) is a Norwegian rapper , singer and songwriter .

Life

Childhood and youth

Karlsen grew up in Oslo, where he danced ballet for a long time in his childhood. Cezinando is his middle name, which comes from his Portuguese father. At the age of 6 he spent some time in Portugal with his grandparents, where he learned Portuguese. As a child he worked as an actor in the television series Karsten og Petra (2002) and AF1 (2008). At the age of 16 he first published music and released the EP Cez 4 Prez .

Career

In 2016 he won the Newcomer Prize of the radio station NRK P3 for the song € PA and released the album Barn av Europa ( German : Children from Europe ). For this he also received a newcomer prize at the P3 Gull music prize and the award for best songwriter at the Spellemannprisen .

In the following year he released the two singles Vi er perfect men verden er ikke det (German: We are perfect, but the world is not ) and Håper du har plass (German: Hope you have space ), which is also in the youth series Skam was used. He also released the album Noen Ganger og Andre , which was largely received positively by critics. For the song Håper du har plass he received the song of the year award at P3 Gull and the album was voted best of the year by music journalists. In 2018 he again won awards at the Spellemannprisen, this time in the categories Album of the Year and Urban.

On February 21, 2020 he released the album Et godt stup i et grunt vann . It rose to first place on the Norwegian music charts and was also rated positively by critics. The newspaper Stavanger Aftenblad gave the album six out of six possible points and the journalist Stella Marie Brevik described it as a masterpiece. Verdens Gang gave it five out of six, noting that the album was more danceable compared to the previous one.

style

His first releases were more dominated by rap than the later ones. These became more melodic and he sang more. Journalist Stella Marie Brevik also noted that at the beginning of his career he wrote articles about alcohol consumption and sexual intercourse, but later began to write about the feelings and insecurity of young people. His dress style and image have been labeled as challenging the gender norms.
