NRK P3 is a radio program of the Norwegian state broadcaster Norsk rikskringkasting (NRK). The station was started after the NRK radio reform in 1993, which was launched by radio director Tor Fuglevik . NRK P3 is the NRK youth channel with the target group of 15 to 29 year olds. Bjørn Tore Grøtte is the editor-in-chief and Mats Borch Bugge is the music director.

P3 moderators are or were Aishath Afeef , Barbara Jahn , Vegard Nordahl , Thomas Numme , Steinar Sagen , Kristopher Schau , Kari Slaatsveen , Jørgen Strickert and Espen Thoresen .

The station can be received via DAB digital radio almost all over Norway. Until 2017 the station could also be received via VHF, although the VHF coverage was patchy, especially in some fjord valleys.

The broadcaster has been organizing the annual award show P3 Gull ( German : P3 Gold ) in Oslo since 2013 . Prizes will be awarded in the categories “Newcomer of the Year”, “Live Artist of the Year”, “Song of the Year” and the “P3 Prize”. Previous winners include a. Kaizers Orchestra , Kygo , Röyksopp and Sigrid .
