Tor Fuglevik (born April 7, 1950 in Kristiansand ) is a Norwegian journalist and media manager .

Life

Fuglevik holds degrees from the Norwegian School of Journalism and the University of Oslo .

In 1971 Fuglevik began working for the NRK as a radio news reporter. In 1976 he got a managerial position at the Norwegian Ministry of Justice. Fuglevik held several positions at the NRK, such as regional manager and radio general director. In his last position, he founded the world's first radio station NRK Klassisk that can only be received via DAB , which began operations on June 1, 1995. From 2002 to 2006 he was Director General of Norges Televisjon .

From 2004 to 2010 he was a board member of the Norwegian Language Council. Fuglevik was also a member of several bodies of the European Broadcasting Union .

Fuglevik is currently the director of the Norwegian branch of the Modern Times Group .

He is the author of several books on the subject of radio and broadcasting.

Awards

In 2008 Fuglevik received the Prix ​​Radio Honorary Award for his contributions to the development of Norwegian radio.
