Andreas Johann

Andreas Johann (* in the 20th century ) is a German disabled athlete who specializes in standing volleyball .

Career

Andreas Johann is severely disabled, started as a volleyball player for the BSG Saarwellingen and was appointed to the German national standing volleyball team.

At the 1992 Paralympic Summer Games in Barcelona , Johann won the gold medal in a team with Rudolf Durrer , Josef Giebel , Pavo Grgic , Bernd Heinrich , Stefan Kaiser , Manfred Kohl , Oliver Müller , Bernard Schmidl , Rudolf Schwietering , Elmar Sommer and Karl-Josef Weißenfels . Andreas Johann also took part in the 1996 Paralympic Summer Games in Atlanta . Again the German volleyball players became Olympic champions and won the gold medal in the same line-up, except that Jens Altmann took the place of Durrer and Heinrich.

For winning the gold medal, Andreas Johann and the members of the German volleyball team were awarded the silver laurel leaf by the Federal President.
