Oliver Müller (volleyball player)

Oliver Müller (born February 7, 1966 ) is a German disabled athlete who specializes in standing volleyball .

Life

Oliver Müller is severely disabled (lower leg amputation on the left), started as a volleyball player for the VSG Gelsenkirchen and was appointed to the German national team for disabled people.

At the 1992 Paralympic Summer Games in Barcelona , Müller won the gold medal in a team with Rudolf Durrer , Josef Giebel , Pavo Grgic , Bernd Heinrich , Stefan Kaiser , Manfred Kohl , Andreas Johann , Bernard Schmidl , Rudolf Schwietering , Elmar Sommer and Karl-Josef Weißenfels . In 1996 he again took part in the Summer Paralympic Games in Atlanta . Here the German team reached the final in the volleyball competition. She appeared in the same line-up, except that Jens Altmann played instead of Durrer and Heinrich, and achieved the Olympic gold medal. Oliver Müller and the German disabled volleyball team were awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf by the Federal President .

Oliver Müller was also with the German volleyball team at the Paralympic Summer Games 2000 . In the line-up of Müller, Pavo Grgic , Marian Warda , Daniel Volkland , Stefan Drabold , Manfred Kohl, Elmar Sommer , Jens Altmann , Bernd Heinrich, Oliver Gutfleisch , Bernard Schmidl and Timo Hager , they were again Olympic champions and gold medals.
