Jang Hye-jin (Korean 장혜진 ; born June 5, 1975 in Busan ) is a South Korean actress .

Life

Jang Hye-jin was born in the South Korean city of Busan in 1975 .

She played her first leading role in the literary film adaptation of Mothers in 2017, which was followed by another leading role in the small production Adulthood that same year . She received international attention through the movie Parasite , who at the 2019 International Film Festival of Cannes , the Palme d'Or won. In the film, she plays the role of Chung-sook at the side of Song Kang-ho .

In late June 2020 she became a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences .
