Rockstarz is a song in English by the Estonian girl group Vanilla Ninja , which was released as the second single of their fourth studio album Love Is War on September 8, 2006 on EMI / Capitol Music .

Production and Success

The piece was written by Per Hendrik Aldeheim, Christian Neander and Michelle Leonard and produced by Kiko Masbaum for Tinseltown Music Productions. Jens Rodenberg and Henrik Kersten acted as co-producers. The piece was recorded at Tinseltown Music Studios.

Rockstarz debuted on September 25, 2006 at number 86 in the German single charts and stayed there for a week. In Austria and Switzerland, the single could not place in the charts.

Maxi single

Unlike Vanilla Ninja's previously released maxi singles, the single does not contain the music video for the song, but a making-of video. The song cannot be heard in its original length on the single, but as a shortened radio edit. In addition, the song was mixed as a hard and an acoustic version.

Artwork

The single cover features the gold-colored Vanilla Ninja logo and the title lettering on a black background. The booklet is completely black. The CD itself is gold in color.

Music video

The music video for Rockstarz was shot from June 30th to July 1st, 2006 within 20 hours in the Berlin Columbiahalle and the surrounding area. The executive production company during the shoot was Katapult Filmproduktion . Sandra Marschner took over the direction of the music video. Sven Gessner was responsible for equipping the set. Petra Klapprott and Michael Felifla were responsible for the styling of Lenna Kuurmaa , Piret Järvis and Katrin Siska . All scenes were recorded by Duli Georg Diemannsberger. The video producer was Gernot Jurisch-Navarro. Holger Lehnau was responsible for the lighting. Fans of the band were invited to this video shoot to take on various guest roles. Kuurmaa's brother and some friends of the band also played.
