Blue Tattoo (dt. Blue Tattoo ) is a song of Estonian pop-rock - girl group Vanilla Ninja from 2004. This is the first single from the eponymous third album Blue Tattoo from David Brandes ' own independent label BROS Music .

Was produced Blue Tattoo by David Brandes and Jane Tempest. The text comes from the pen of Bernd Opinion , who is also known under the pseudonym "John O'Flynn". The recordings took place in Brandes' recording studio in Weil am Rhein , with Lenna Kuurmaa taking over the lead vocals.

The song was first heard on the limited edition of the previous album Traces of Sadness as an unplugged version. Blue Tattoo was released as the band's sixth single on November 15, 2004 in Germany , Estonia , Austria and Switzerland .

single

The maxi single of the song contains three versions of the title as well as the music video shot by Sascha Kramer and Brandes in Iceland . The extended version of the piece is the longest song in the band with a length of nine minutes and 20 seconds. In addition to the single and the album, the limited edition of the album and the best-of album as well as the single collection also contain the song. On the cover of the single, Katrin Siska , Lenna Kuurmaa , Piret Järvis and Triinu Kivilaan stand from left to right in front of a blue ice landscape. According to its title, the single is kept entirely in shades of blue. To promote the song, Vanilla Ninja performed on Top of the Pops on November 27, 2004 .

The CD had to be taken off the chart for three months in May 2005 because Brandes had thousands of his own CDs bought himself.

Chew Kuu

Blue Tattoo also appeared in an Estonian version called Kauge Kuu . However, this song cannot be heard on a CD, but only on various Internet portals. The melody here is the same, only the text has been rewritten. It is not a pure translation into English, but a completely new lyrics.

Chart placements

Blue Tattoo was able to stay in the Austrian charts for a total of 20 weeks and is therefore the single with the second biggest chart success of the band after When the Indians Cry .
