Valentine Romanski (born June 22, 1988 in Zwenkau ), known as Valentine , is a German singer and musician . Her songs are mostly ballads written by herself, in which she accompanies herself on the piano.

Career

Valentine was born the daughter of a sound engineer. Her mother was a member of a band when she was young. She herself grew up in Berlin-Friedrichshain . As a child she learned to play the piano . Encouraged by Robert Gläser, her mother's friend, she began to write her first songs at the age of 13. Valentine's debut album was created from these compositions in 2005, for which Gläser was able to win over numerous well-known musicians (including Felix M. Lehrmann [dr.] And Werner Becker ).

The first single Feel So Bad reached the German charts in June 2005. Her debut album Ocean Full of Tears was released shortly afterwards. The album did not give Valentine a major commercial breakthrough, but it was still ranked 26th and stayed in the top 100 for two months. During the year Valentine played at numerous festivals and concerts. On November 24th, 2005 she sang her single Feel so Bad at the Eins Live Krone award ceremony and was nominated for Best Newcomer .

In September 2006 she returned to the public after several months of studio work and released her second album Blue Merry-Go-Round . The album could not build on the commercial success. Blue Merry-Go-Round did not make it into the top 100 of the German album charts after the first single You & Me reached number 81 and was mostly ignored by radio stations and music television. In December 2006, the song Why was released as a second single, which is only available as a download.

Since the beginning of 2010 she has been touring Germany with the stage show of the story song production Der Traumzauberbaum by Reinhard Lakomy . She plays and sings the character "Waldwuffel". Her third album Love Like Gold was released on October 29, 2010 - the first single from it, Black Sheep , two weeks earlier. It reached number 30 and was able to stay in the German single charts for a total of four weeks. On April 9, 2011, the music video for Black Sheep won the drums.de Award as Music Video of the Year 2011.

To support the album Love Like Gold and to introduce new songs, Romanski organized several online concerts in 2011. Since April 2013 she has appeared in several concerts in the opening act of Axel Bosse's crane tour . Later also in the main program in a duet with Axel Bosse (title “Next Summer”) and as a background singer.

On January 17, 2020, Valentine's new single Elektroschlag was released .
