Aloha from Hell was a pop rock band from Aschaffenburg , Bavaria , Germany .

history

Aloha from Hell was founded in 2006. The band's career starting point was winning the Bravo Band Newcomer Contest in August 2007, which was endowed with a record deal with Sony BMG . The five musicians had their first big appearance at the Bravo Supershow 2008 , where they performed in front of more than 6000 spectators.

On June 6, 2008 her debut single Don't Gimme That was released , which was produced by Alex Wende and René Rennefeld (including Die Prinzen , H-Blockx ). The sound is reminiscent of the band's role models such as Die Happy , Nickelback , Avril Lavigne , Paramore and Evanescence .

The band sang in English only. The debut album No More Days to Waste was released on January 16, 2009. On May 29, 2009 they won the Comet in the category “Best Take-off”.

On July 15, 2010, the band announced their breakup, as the band members could not agree on their further musical path.

In the 10th year after the band was founded, the group met on September 3, 2016 in the Colos Hall in Aschaffenburg with the original cast for a one-time anniversary concert. A possible comeback of the band project was ruled out at the same time.

Success abroad

In addition to less successful chart placements in Austria, the band worked on their breakthrough in other European countries. For this purpose, appearances took place in Belgium and France in June 2009 (Brussels, June 3; Paris, June 4; Lyon, June 5, Strasbourg, June 6).

However, they were able to record great success in Japan. The album and single ( No More Days to Waste ) reached chart positions in the top 10. From June 7th to 12th, 2009 the band traveled to Japan a second time for promotional appearances. The world premiere of the second single in Japan ( Can You Hear Me Boys ) took place in Harajuku on June 10th . There was also a premiere event there, with two large screens being attached to the outside of the building. The video was broadcast live at the premiere party and on television in front of an audience of millions.

In addition, Vivi (singer) was photographed in Japan for some well-known glossy magazines (including the Japanese Elle ), and an interview with the Japanese Playboy took place. In August the band performed at the Summer Sonic Festival in Japan, which featured artists such as Beyoncé , Paramore and Madonna . Aloha from Hell were also already active in America. The videos for No More Days to Waste as well as for Walk Away were shot in the Los Angeles area, along with the video shooting, there were several radio interviews with various local radio stations.
