Jeffrey Jey
Jeffrey Jey (* 5. January 1970 in Lentini as Gianfranco Randone ) is an Italian music producer and singer . He is a founding member of the Turin-based band Eiffel 65 , which became known worldwide in 1999 for the song Blue (Da Ba Dee) .
Life
Born in Sicily , he spent most of his childhood in New York until he returned to Italy with his parents in 1983. Even in his youth, Jey became interested in working with the computer and started playing the piano. While on vacation in Turin in 1992, he met Massimo Gabutti , the owner of the record label Blisscorporation , by chance and moved to the city to work. In the same year he formed the Eurodance project Bliss Team with Roberto Molinaro , which was able to establish itself in the Italian market and in the club scene in the following years.
Jeffrey Jey founded the band Eiffel 65 with his two work colleagues Maurizio Lobina and Gabry Ponte in 1998. Their first single Blue (Da Ba Dee) became an international hit in 1999 and received numerous awards. In 2005 the group disbanded. Together with Maurizio Lobina, he formed the electro-pop duo Bloom 06 from 2006 to 2009 , before Eiffel 65 reunited in 2010. In 2012, Jeffrey Jey separated from Blisscorporation and released his debut single Out of Your Arms on the Dance and Love label in November . The Eiffel 65 project continues and is working on a new album.
In 2015 he worked with Robin Schulz and Henri PFR and was the lead singer of their song Wave Goodbye .
