I Believe I'm Fine ( English for “I think I'm fine .”) Is a song by the German DJ Robin Schulz , in cooperation with the Marseille ( France ) DJ Hugel . The track is the third single from his third studio album Uncovered .

Creation and artwork

The song was written jointly by Christopher Braide, Dave Gibson, Florent Hugel, the Junkx production team (consisting of: Dennis Bierbrodt, Stefan Dabruck , Jürgen Dohr and Guido Kramer) and Robin Schulz. The latter also produced the piece in collaboration with Hugel and the German production team Junkx. Junkx was also responsible for the mixing and final engineering of the song. The piece was mastered by Monoposto Mastering, under the direction of Michael Schwabe. The recordings were made in the Junkx Music Studios in Mülheim an der Ruhr . I Believe I'm Fine was released under the Tonspiel and Warner Music labels .

On the cover of the single you can see - next to the artist name and song title - Schulz. It is in black and white and only shows Schulz's upper body. He wears a coat, a hat and sunglasses that reflect light. The picture itself is mostly black and gray, only the light reflecting in the sunglasses is white, as is the imprint of the contributors and the title. The cover picture was shot by the Berlin photographer Maximilian König.

Publication and promotion

The first release of I Believe I'm Fine was done as a single download on September 8, 2017. Around half months later, with I Believe I'm Fine (The Remixes) the release of a remix EP on 27 October 2017. The EP is only from remix versions, the original is not on it. Among other things, the EP includes remixes by the Belgian-Greek DJ duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike or the DJ Katch from Frankfurt am Main . In Germany, I Believe I'm Fine was used as a promotional song by RTL II for a certain time , so the piece could be heard at the beginning of various commercial breaks.

In a press release, Schulz described the state of the joint collaboration with Hugel as follows: “Hugel and I have known each other for a few years now and are in constant contact. Music video

The music video for I Believe I'm Fine was shot in Spain and premiered on September 8, 2017 on YouTube . You can see a hit man (played by Helmut Schobel) who has been given the task of snatching Schulz. Supposedly the hired killer Schulz lurks and grabs him after he leaves a bar drunk, covers his face and packs him into his car. When he wants to look after him a little later and freed his face, the hit man realizes that he has caught the wrong one, who only looks like Schulz. He tries to get rid of the wrong person (played by Harald Geil), but now the hit man is being pursued by the other person. The contract killer tried several times to get rid of the person without success. Towards the end of the video, after a visit to a diner, he succeeds in pretending to go to the toilet, sneaking out and driving away in the car. During the trip, he remembers the moments with the stranger and begins to miss him. At the end of the video, the hit man drives back to get the stranger and they drive on together. Schulz can be seen again and again at different locations as himself. Hugel appears in a role as the owner of the lottery ticket when they both visit a fair . The total length of the video is 3:43 minutes. Directed by Annegret von Holiday. To date, the music video has almost 15 million views on YouTube (as of July 2018).

I Believe I'm Fine reached position 29 in the single charts in Germany and stayed in the charts for a total of 24 weeks. In addition, the single was able to place itself in the daily evaluations of the German iTunes charts for several weeks and reached its highest ranking in fourth place on October 3, 2017. In Austria the single reached position 26 in 19 chart weeks and in Switzerland position 88 in three chart weeks of the German-speaking countries, the single also made it into the Swedish single charts .

For Schulz as an interpreter, this is the twelfth chart success in Germany and his eleventh in Austria and Switzerland. Awards for music sales

In February 2018 I Believe I'm Fine was awarded a gold record in Germany for over 200,000 units sold. For Schulz it is the eighth single in a row that has at least achieved gold status in Germany. Overall, it is Schulz's 10th single that has been certified in his home country. For Hugel it is the first gold award in his career.
