Stefan Dabruck

Stefan Dabruck (born February 5, 1975 in Hagen ) is a German entrepreneur, artist manager, A&R manager, former DJ and co-founder of the Junkx production team , who claims to have produced several hundred platinum and gold records worldwide. As the founder of the company Stefan Dabruck Management, Dabruck represents the artists Robin Schulz , Alle Farben and Hugel, among others .

Career

Dabruck grew up in Gevelsberg, North Rhine-Westphalia . After training as a forwarding agent, he found music.

In 1998 he met Frank Klein . Initially, the two played as DJs, in 1999 Klein started as A&R manager at the newly founded record company Superstar Recordings in Frankfurt and brought Dabruck on board as a DJ promoter. Together they built a European club label in the 2000s, some of which sold six-figure vinyl records a year. Together with Klein, Dabruck, who has meanwhile risen to Head of A&R at Superstar Recordings , was successful with one of their first major signings, Panjabi MC . In the following years they signed around twenty top 10 hits.

In addition, Dabruck & Klein played around the world, playing in the Webster Hall in New York in 2001 . In 2008 they founded their first own label WePlay together with Elmar Braun and signed Bob Sinclar , Axwell , Steve Angello , Sebastian Ingrosso , Laserkraft 3D or Faul & Wad Ad , who had a number 1 hit in Germany with Changes . In the deep house wave that followed, WePlay was at the forefront thanks to artists like Robin Schulz. Stefan Dabruck also stepped into the foreground as artist manager.

At the same time, Dabruck began in 2004 to get into music production. Together with a studio partner in Frankfurt he produced remixes for Nelly Furtado , Public Enemy and Lenny Kravitz as well as David Guetta , Swedish House Mafia , Bob Sinclair and Axwell.

In 2010 Dabruck opened his first own studio, Junkx Music Studios in Mühlheim, together with Dennis Bierbrodt, Jürgen Dohr and Guido Kramer . At first, Dabruck only worked in the administrative area, since 2016 he has also been an integral part of music production and produces and also writes on all the songs of the producer team. He celebrated his first chart success with Junkx in May 2016 with the author participation and production of Heatwave by Robin Schulz feat. Akon .

Through SDM Production GmbH, founded in November 2019, he works internationally with various producer teams and looks after studios in Nashville , Athens , Budapest and Baku .

Projects

In addition to the production division, SDM (Stefan Dabruck Management) combines other fields of activity under one roof: Artist management (SDM GmbH & Co. KG, founded in 2017) and author and producer management (SDM International GmbH & Co. KG, founded in 2018), the latter being supervised by first international office in Nashville, USA.

The record label Famouz was founded in 2019. In 2019, SDM International held songwriting camps a. a. with The Recording Academy (organizer of the Grammy Awards ) and world star producers like Dr. Exit hatch .

Stefan Dabruck is also a lecturer at Belmont University in Nashville, where he gives seminars and plans to implement a study-abroad program for 15 students in Germany for the first time in May 2020, supported by Sony Music Germany and the City of Frankfurt. The environment for this is currently being created with our own studios in Frankfurt, which are also due to open in May 2020.
