Superstar Recordings
Superstar Recordings is a German record label that has been marketing and supporting music and artists from the field of electronic music since 1998 . The company is based in Berlin . The CDs of the independent label are mainly distributed by Universal , the vinyl releases by Taste Distribution .
history
In August 1998 the house musician Peter Aleksander and the then Sony Music employee Markus Wenzel founded the label Superstar Recordings in Mühltal in southern Hesse . They set themselves the goal of publishing a few titles, but taking care of them intensively and thus drawing attention to themselves in order to “become a top address for producers ”. With the four chart titles A Life so Changed and Return to Paradise , both by Blue Nature, El Ritmo by Mosquito Headz and Sync In by Silent Breed from the total of six single releases, they managed to do this in their first year. Due to the rapid success, the two managing directors dared to found the sub-label Popstar Recordings and to increase their staff in mid-1999. In November 2002, Wenzel accepted an offer from Universal and became its Managing Director . At the end of 2004, Frank Fenslau filled the gap that had arisen. For the company's ten-year anniversary in 2008, the company moved to Berlin-Kreuzberg .

International attention was particularly drawn to artists such as Yolanda Be Cool & Dcup , The Disco Boys , Panjabi MC , the Boogie Pimps , Tocadisco , Axwell , Steve Angello , Sebastian Ingrosso , Culture Beat , Supermode, Moguai , Timo Maas , Toktok vs. Nena , Danzel , Global Deejays , Mylo or DAF reached. The sub-label Popstar Recordings was successful with Grup Tekkan, which became well known through the Internet and TV .
One of the label's greatest successes is the song Mundian to Bach Ke by Panjabi MC, which won the MTV Europe Music Award and the World Music Award in 2003. In the same year, Superstar Recordings received the German Dance Award in the “Best Label” category. In 2004 the company received this award again.
