Global deejays
Global Deejays is a music project by the two Austrian electro house producers and DJs Konrad Schreyvogl and Florian Schreyvogl.
Band history
After various European hits under different pseudonyms (such as Ravers on Dope with a Dune cover version of Hardcore Vibes from 2001), the two producers DJ Taylor & FLOw, together with the US-American DJ Mikkel Christensen, succeeded in 2004 the single The Sound of San Francisco achieved a worldwide breakthrough. It is based primarily on a sample of number-one hits San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair) by Scott McKenzie from the year 1967 on. The single, which was first released on vinyl, was released under the pseudonym Global Playboys , while the later records released in other European countries were called Global Deejays .
The song developed into a club hit and reached the top of the German dance chart on November 22, 2004 , where it stayed for many weeks. In December 2004 the single also entered the German single chart and reached number 3.
The follow-up single What a Feeling , a cover of the title song of the film Flashdance , entered the Media Control Singles Chart on April 26, 2005 at number 16. The publication on the promo single, like The Sound of San Francisco , uses a sample of the original in the chorus. The official single release, however, includes a cover version produced by the Global Deejays themselves with a newly sung hookline. In 2005 they were nominated for many prizes, including the Echo (Germany). They even won the Russian MTV Award and the Polish Eska . The single Hardcore Vibes , which they released at the end of 2011, entered the French chart at number 54 at the end of January and also entered the Belgian charts.
