Niels van Gogh (* 1977 ; actually Niels Eiterer ) is a German DJ and musician from Augsburg .

biography

Niels van Gogh started as a DJ in 1994 and became resident DJ in the Pleasure Dome Club in his hometown Augsburg from 1997. He made his breakthrough in the autumn of 1998 with “Powder Tower”. The 1998 Love Parade, on which the title was a kind of anthem, contributed to the track's great success. In addition to the official anthem, there was a "smash hit" every year at the Love Parade - in 1998 it was Niels van Gogh's powder tower.

Pulverturm was also a success in the pop charts and reached number 19 on the media control charts. With over 20,000 copies, the record was the best-selling vinyl record of 1998. For this it was awarded the German Dance Award. Niels was also successful abroad and reached number 17 in the Netherlands, number 24 in France and even barely made it into the British charts. In Belgium he was awarded gold for Powder Tower.

The follow-up single "Doppelganger" entered the German charts at the end of 1999 and reached the top 20 in Belgium, and several top 10 hits by the Augsburger followed in the dance charts in the years that followed. At the beginning of 2000 he switched to the Düsseldorf Poison Club as a resident DJ in the Rhineland. In 2002 van Gogh had another successful title with "Another Joy" that stormed the German club charts.

A few years later he left the Poison Club and started working on new productions. Several music tracks followed, including "Dreamer" or "My house is calling" (see also singles). He also worked with various other musicians, including a. with Eric Smax and Thomas Gold, with whom he founded the City Sneakerz project.

Together with Eniac, with whom he had produced Pulverturm in 1998, he released a new edition of his greatest hit in 2007 under the title Pulverturm 2.0 and thus had another Europe-wide hit that even made it into the top 10 in Finland.

In 2009 he founded the Play Me Louder label for his own and third-party sound productions.

In 2011, together with the Swiss musician Daniel Strauss, he published his latest track "Emergency". The latest track was not only successful in the club charts (it reached number 4 on the DDC), but was also on the playlist of David Guetta , Roger Sanchez and Fedde Le Grand .

In 2012 he toured around the world and played at festivals such as Tomorrowland . He produced remixes for Plastik Funk, Michael Mind, Schiller, Tom Novy, Picco and Rene Rodrigezz. Among other things, he releases on the Spinnin 'Records label.

In 2019 Tiesto released a remix of Eiterer's hit Pulverturm on his Musical Freedom label . A little later, the Austrian DJ Rene Rodrigezz released the remix EP of his song Stand My Ground, which contains a VIP mix version by Rodrigezz & Niels van Gogh.
