Mylo

Mylo (born May 10, 1978 on Skye ; actually Myles MacInnes ) is a Scottish musician and DJ .

Career

MacInnes initially studied philosophy, psychology and physiology at Oxford University and moved to University College London in 1999 for his doctorate . Here he broke off his studies after two years and returned to his Scottish homeland so that he could concentrate on his musical career as a house producer and DJ.

Together with Linus Loves he founded the record label Breastfed in Glasgow . In 2004 Mylo's debut album was released under the title Destroy Rock & Roll , which he recorded in his bedroom on an Apple Power Macintosh . It hit the charts straight away in its home country and has sold around 190,000 copies so far. In Germany he was best known for a mashup version of his title Drop the Pressure and the Gloria Estefan song Doctor Beat . It was published in 2005 and is called Doctor Pressure .

The follow- up single In My Arms was based on a sample from the song Bette Davis Eyes by Kim Carnes .

After its success, Mylo was hired to do remixes by many well-known artists, including Kylie Minogue ( I Believe in You ), the Scissor Sisters ( Mary ), and The Killers ( Somebody Told Me ).
