Ingrid Mylo (* 1955 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German writer .

Ingrid Mylo studied German, English and American studies in Frankfurt.

From 1974 to 1976 Ingrid Mylo worked as assistant director at the Frankfurter Theater am Turm (TAT); among others for Rainer Werner Fassbinder . From 1976 to 1988 she wrote short radio plays and a radio feature for various broadcasters - especially for Hessischer Rundfunk . As a reviewer, she made numerous television contributions for the literary magazine “Bücherjournal” of the Hessischer Rundfunk and worked, among other things, on the Franco-German cultural channel Arte in Strasbourg. In 2004 she wrote scripts for the short films How I Become a Democrat (Director: Dieter Reifarth) and The Story of the Lost Glove (Director: Katrin Magnitz).

Ingrid Mylo published her poems and short stories mainly in the 1980s in Germany, England and Italy. For example in 1985 in the Italian literary magazine il bagordo , translated by Dacia Maraini .

From 1984 she published essayistic / literary texts and film reviews in various newspapers and magazines such as Neue Zürcher Zeitung , Frankfurter Pflasterstrand , Fabrikzeitung , Berliner Wochenpost , Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and Badische Zeitung . She published monthly columns and essays under the title “Kaffeblüten” from 1988 to 1999 in the Frankfurt magazine Strandgut and from 1988 to 2000 under the title “Sidesteps” in the magazine Ballett International / Tanz aktuell (Berlin). From 1999 to 2001 Mylo's serial novel Teerstern appeared in the Frankfurt magazine Strandgut . From 2004 to 2011 she was a permanent columnist for the internet magazine glanzundelend.de .

Ingrid Mylo has been publishing on getidan.de ( authors about art and life ) since 2011. This is where her book reviews fly heads - book letters to friends .

Ingrid Mylo has lived and worked in Kassel with the writer Felix Hofmann since 1992 .
