Toktok is a Berlin group from the techno scene. Members are Anton Waldt , Nerk (Benjamin Weiss), Fabian Feyerabendt (who also belongs to the band 'Contemporary Household' with Alexej Schipenko), C14 (Carsten Neubauer) and occasionally Stefan Küchenmeister . It is not to be confused with tok tok tok .

A wider audience were Toktok by the singer with Soffy O released singles Missy Queen's Gonna Die (2001) and Day of Mine (2002) and the album Toktok vs. Soffy O. (2002), as well as through the single Bang Bang (2004, video by the comic artists Bringmann & Kopetzki ) released with singer Nena .

history

Toktok was founded in 1994 when the current members of the group were still active as organizers in the free party scene, working with the Spiral Tribe sound system, among other things .

In the 1990s, After numerous appearances, Toktok developed a mixture of techno , electroclash and house as his own style of music . In 2001, her first club success, Missy Queen's Gonna Die , led her to a record deal with EastWest ( Warner Music ) together with Soffy O. After the second single with Soffy O. Day Of Mine was also a success a year later , Toktok released their first album, Toktok vs. Soffy O. , which was awarded the German Dance Award .

This was followed by a tour of Europe, Russia and Japan.

In addition, Fabian Feyerabendt, Stefan Küchenmeister and Benjamin Weiss ran the ZokZok project. With the track ZokZok 3 based on a sample from the ABBA song Head Over Heels , the project had a very successful club hit in 2002.
