Thomas Jack (born April 19, 1993 in Bemboka , New South Wales ; real name Tom Jack Johnston ) is an Australian DJ and music producer . He gained international fame through the establishment of the sub-genre Tropical House . He brought the term into circulation in 2013. He is under contract with the major labels Parlophone and Warner Music .

Career

Jack was born in Bemboka Municipality, Australia. His childhood was marked by the dairy farm and the quiet country life. He later moved to the nearby town of Bega . According to his own statements, Jack came into contact with electronic dance music through the music software eJay . As a result, he dealt more and more with the basics of music production. He switched to Ableton Live , which he had received from his father for Christmas.

He was discovered on Soundcloud by Myles Shear, who became his first manager. Jack is considered the first known representative of the tropical house music genre . Over time, more and more producers such as Kygo and Klingande were associated with the music genre.
