Valentin Wessely (* 2005 in Berlin ) is a German child actor . He is the recipient of the Grimme Prize (2018).

Career

Valentin Wessely made his debut as a child actor as Miko in the 2015 adventure television film Tales from Everywhere - Zombriella , in which he played one of the three leading roles.

In 2017 he starred alongside Tilman Döbler (* 2006) as the main actor in the role of Jonas Gramowski in the multi-award-winning television film Zuckersand by screenwriter and director Dirk Kummer . Together with Döbler, he received the Grimme Prize 2018 on behalf of the entire cast ensemble . The newspaper Der Tagesspiegel paid tribute to his acting performance as follows:

“It's great how Tilman Döbler plays Fred and Valentin Wessely plays Jonas. They seem like they were taken out of life in the GDR in 1979 and not put into it. They are true and real, because they stand for unbreakable children's and childhood values. "
