Charlie Puth
Charles Otto “Charlie” Puth Junior (born December 2, 1991 in Rumson , New Jersey , USA ) is an American singer and songwriter with German and Hungarian roots who gained great popularity through YouTube . According to the sources, he has sold more than 47.6 million records in his career, over 33.5 million of them in his home country alone. Charlie Puth's most successful release is the single See You Again , written by him, with around 15.5 million units sold.
Childhood and youth
Charlie Puth was born as one of three children to a father with German and Hungarian roots and a Jewish mother. When he was two years old, a dog injured his face and he was sewn with multiple stitches. These scars are still visible today, which gives it its distinctive eyebrow. After graduating from Berklee College of Music with a degree in music, he moved to Los Angeles.
2009–2014: beginnings
In 2009 Puths began career with the upload cover songs on YouTube . He became well known for his acoustic cover version of the Adele song Someone Like You , which he sang with Emily Luther. The US talk show host Ellen DeGeneres became aware of this cover version and invited the two to her show. DeGeneres gave them their first record deal with DeGeneres' record label eleveneleven . After Puth left eleveneleven , he signed a recording deal with Atlantic Records .
2015 to date: Some Type of Love
In February 2015 he released his first single Marvin Gaye , which he composed with Julie Frost . He sang the single with Meghan Trainor . It was his first international chart success . He achieved even greater fame, however, with his single See You Again from the soundtrack of the film Fast & Furious 7 , which he recorded with Wiz Khalifa and became a worldwide success. Puth also starred in the music video for Meghan Trainor's single Dear Future Husband in 2015 . In 2016, the last episode of the first season played Supergirl One Call Away . "Through it all" can also be heard in the finale of the third season of Supergirl. He also appeared in 2016 as himself in the 14th episode of the second season of the series Life in Pieces. In May 2018 he released his album Voicenotes with songs like Attention , How Long and The Way I Am .
