Matthew Tyler Musto (born November 27, 1990 in Daytona Beach , Florida ), known under the stage name Blackbear (stylized as blackbear ) is an American hip-hop / R&B / soul singer, songwriter and record producer . He has worked with several great musicians such as Gnash , Justin Bieber , G-Eazy , Mike Posner , Maejor Ali , Palisades , Machine Gun Kelly , Mod Sun , Rivers Cuomo , Childish Gambino , Billie Eilish , Pharrell Williams , Miley Cyrus , Linkin Park and Jacob Sartorius , Lauv. Blackbear even co-wrote Justin Bieber's hit Boyfriend . He also produced the title track of G-Eazy's album These Things Happen, after which he even appeared on the album in the song Remember You . Blackbear is still a member of the alternative hip-hop and R&B duo Mansionz, which he founded together with singer and songwriter Mike Posner.

Career

On February 14th, 2015 Blackbear released his first longer album "Deadroses". The main single "Idfc" was found on Billboard's R&B Hot 100. It was there for over a year. The song received millions of streams on SoundCloud and Spotify . It was streamed over 22.5 million times on SoundCloud, and Idfc (Tarro Remix) had over 93 million views as of April 2017. "Idfc" shot Blackbear to the top 20 on the Billboard charts. His second longer album "Help", released on November 27, 2015, could not build on the success of Deadroses . On January 29th, 2017 he posted the track "Make Daddy Proud," a remix of Jeremy Zuckers Heavy . On March 17th, 2017, the main single for his new album Digital Druglord was released , entitled "Do Re Mi".

Towards the end of 2016 Blackbear founded the alternative hip-hop and R&B duo Mansionz together with the singer and songwriter Mike Posner . It released its first single STFU on December 9, 2016. Two more singles, Rich White Girls and Dennis Rodman, followed in 2017 .

Both of these singles and STFU can be found on Mansionz's first self-titled album, which was released on March 24, 2017. The album receives guest appearances from G-Eazy , Soren Bryce, CyHi the Prynce and Snoozegod.

In 2016 Blackbear worked on the album One More Light by the American rock band Linkin Park. The album was released on May 19, 2017. In 2019 he released the song Hot Girl Bummer with which he hit the charts again.
