In November 2015 she released the song Ocean Eyes, written by her older brother Finneas, on SoundCloud : Billie's dance teacher asked her to write and sing a song for a dance routine. “Besides singing, I'm also a dancer. I've danced since I was eight years old. [...] We put [the song] online with a free download link for my dance teacher to access. We didn't have any ulterior motives, but so to speak overnight quite a few people heard it and they shared the song ”. Billie was around 14 years old at the time. With numerous views of this song, Interscope Records became aware of the singer and she was signed. Finneas then appeared on all of her releases as a producer and co-songwriter. "I can be honest with him because he is my brother and I feel comfortable telling him everything," said Billie Eilish in an interview with Nylon magazine in early 2017 .

Since the summer of 2016, Billie Eilish brought out more singles through her record label. Her song Bellyache was remixed by Marian Hill , and the title Bored was used for the soundtrack for the Netflix series Dead Girls Are Not , which was released in late March 2017 .
