Ocean Eyes (spelling: ocean eyes ) is a song by the US singer Billie Eilish .

Billie's brother Finneas originally wrote this song for his own band, but passed it on to Billie. - Her dance teacher (at the Revolution Dance Center dance studio on Honolulu Avenue in Los Angeles ) Fred Diaz asked her to write a song for a dance routine and sing it.

The song was released on SoundCloud on November 18, 2015 and went viral . Billie was around 14 years old at the time.

“Besides singing, I'm also a dancer. I've danced since I was eight years old. [...] We put it (note: the song) online with a free download link for my dance teacher to access. We didn't have any ulterior motives, but quite a few people heard it overnight, so to speak, and they shared the song, "

Billie Eilish said in an interview with Teen Vogue magazine in early 2017 .

With numerous views of this song, Interscope Records became aware of the singer and she was signed. Finneas then appeared on all of her releases as a producer and co-songwriter.

The song was re-released as a single on November 18, 2016 under the Interscope Records label . On September 11, 2018, the single went platinum for 1 million copies sold in the United States.
