You Should See Me in a Crown (spelling: you should see me in a crown ) is a song by the American singer-songwriter Billie Eilish . It was originally released as a digital single on July 20, 2018 , and later featured on Billie Eilish's debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? (March 29, 2019) used.
background
The title of the song was inspired by a scene from the third episode of the second season of the BBC television series Sherlock , entitled Der Reichenbachfall , in which the villain Jim Moriarty said the words "... honey, you should see me in a crown" ( German dubbing: "I look gorgeous with a crown, honey") says. Eilish and O'Connell, who are fans of the show, thought the line was “dope” and decided to write a song around the quote. The song Human by the Iranian - Dutch singer Sevdaliza was also cited as one of the influences on the title.
