Nobody Does It Better is a song by Marvin Hamlisch (music) and Carole Bayer Sager (lyrics), which was published in 1977 as the tenth James Bond theme song .

Hamlisch and Bayer wrote Nobody Does It Better as a theme song for the James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me ( The Spy Who Loved Me , 1977), with Roger Moore in the lead role. Nobody Does It Better (Main Title Song) was sung by Carly Simon . The song was nominated for a Golden Globe and a Grammy in 1978, and received an Oscar nomination for Best Song in 1978 . The American Film Institute included the song in their list of 100 Songs - America's Best Movie Songs . The first two lines of the song are: Nobody does it better / Makes me feel sad for the rest .

Carly Simon released Nobody Does It Better (coupled with B-side After the Storm ) in 1977 on Elektra Records ; the song was a huge success for the singer and was # 2 on the American Billboard Hot 100 and number 1 on the Easy Listening charts for three weeks . The song was also at # 2 on the Cash Box Charts for four weeks . and reached # 7 on the UK Singles Chart.

Cover versions of Nobody Does It Better took off in the 1970s a. a. Jack Jones , Groove Holmes , Rob McConnell , Ella Fitzgerald and Toots Thielemans . In later years Aimee Mann , Plas Johnson , Anita O'Day , David Sanborn , Marco Benevento and Harry Allen also interpreted the song. The song was also used in films such as Bridget Jones - On the Edge of Wahnsinns (2004) or The Ex-girlfriends of my friend (2004).
