The World Is Not Enough is a rock song with orchestral elements from 1999 that was played by the band Garbage . The song was the theme song of the film of the same name from the James Bond series.

history

The song was released in advance on October 4, 1999. The piece was recorded in the summer of 1999 with an 83-piece orchestra in Vancouver at Armory Studios. It was written by the film composers David Arnold and Don Black . The song combined the traditional style of James Bond songs with contemporary elements of alternative rock .

Chart success

The title was very successful in Europe, reaching number 11 in the charts in the UK . Further top 20 placements were achieved in Switzerland, Belgium and Italy. In Finland and Norway the single rose to number 7. Further chart positions were achieved in Germany with number 38, in Austria with number 40, and in the top 60 of France, the Netherlands and Sweden. In the USA the single could not be placed.
