Marco Benevento (born July 22, 1977 in Livingston , New Jersey ) is an American musician ( piano , keyboard , Hammond organ , Wurlitzer electric piano , Mellotron ) and composer who works in jazz , independent rock and experimental post- Rock influences connect.

Live and act

Benevento grew up in the New Jersey area , learned the piano, and began performing with drummer Joe Russo while in junior high school. After graduating from school, he moved to Boston and studied keyboards with Joanne Brackeen at the Berklee School of Music (graduated in 1999) . During this time he worked in Boston with the improvisation band Jazz Farmers . After moving to New York City in 2001, he worked again with his school friend Joe Russo, with whom he played in a duo at the Knitting Factory . Benevento / Russo recorded four albums together. In 2005 he was a member of the rock jazz band Garage A Trois ; In 2006 he toured with Bobby Previte . In 2007 he had an engagement in the New York Club Tonic ; from the recordings in different occupations, the 3-CD album was Live at Tonic that at the Independent Music Awards as Best Live Performance Album award. Marco Benevento recorded the studio album Invisible Baby with bassist Reed Mathis and drummers Andrew Barr and Matt Chamberlain in 2008 under his own name for Hyena Records , followed by the studio production Me Not Me . In 2009 Invisible Baby was nominated for Jazz Album of the Year at the Independent Music Awards . He worked with singers for the first time on the album TigerFace (2012).

Since 2013 he has played with Joe Russo's Almost Dead , a Grateful Dead tribute band.
