Matt Chamberlain

Matt Chamberlain (born April 17, 1967 in San Pedro , Los Angeles ) is an American drummer and percussionist .

Matt Chamberlain began playing drums at the age of 15, took lessons from David Garibaldi, Murray Spivack , Chuck Flores and Greg Bissonette, and eventually received a scholarship from North Texas State University . He became known through his brief stint for Pearl Jam . Chamberlain succeeded Dave Krusen and worked for Pearl Jam for barely a month in the summer of 1991. He can be seen in the video for "Alive".

After working in various bands, Chamberlain developed into one of the most sought-after studio drummers in the USA from the mid-1990s. He played on albums by Tori Amos , Fiona Apple , David Bowie , Elton John , Garbage , Brad Mehldau , Morrissey , The Wallflowers , Robbie Williams and others. a. and has a concise style that often makes it spontaneously recognizable. He is also a permanent member of Tori Amos' live band.

His greatest musical success is the autumn / winter 2019 tour with Bob Dylan .
