Yield is the fifth studio album by the American rock band Pearl Jam . It was produced by Brendan O'Brien . For the first time since the debut album Ten , the band released a video clip for a single. Directed Do the Evolution led Kevin Altieri and Todd McFarlane .
style
In contrast to the previous album No Code , Yield is less experimental. The band's typical mixture of faster pieces and ballads is continued, but more accessible and straightforward than on the two previous ones.
layout
Typical for the band, this album was also released in a cardboard slipcase. On the cover you can see a country road, on the edge of which there is a road sign with the words “Yield” and the meaning “Pay attention!”. If you open the front cover, you see the same street sign in the sea again.
reception
Bill Aicher wrote on musiccritic.com that Pearl Jam had released another great album. The album continues its path from "rough grunge to civilized rock."
