The MTV Europe Music Awards 2019 (abbreviated MTV EMA 2019 ) were presented on November 3, 2019 at the FIBES Conference and Exhibition Center in Seville , Spain . It was the second time in a row and the fourth time that the prize was awarded in Spain. It was the first time in the history of the MTV EMA that a country hosted the show twice in a row.

The South Korean band BTS received the most awards in the evening and won in the categories Best Group , Best Live and Best Fans . The nominations were announced on October 1, 2019. Ariana Grande topped the nomination list with seven nominations, but won no award. Billie Eilish , Lil Nas X and Shawn Mendes each received six nominations.

The event hosted MTV Music Week, which ran from October 31 to November 2 and included various events across the city. The main concert was performed on November 2nd in Plaza de España . The South Korean band NCT 127 was the first K-Pop band to perform live on the EMA stage.
