The MTV Europe Music Awards 2018 (also EMAs 2018 ) ceremony took place on November 4, 2018 in the Bizkaia Arena in Barakaldo in the greater Bilbao area , Spain . It was the third time the MTV Europe Music Awards had been held in Spain and the first time the event had been held in the greater Bilbao area. The event was moderated by the US singer Hailee Steinfeld .

The nominations for the individual categories were announced by MTV on October 4, 2018. Most of the nominations went to Camila Cabello , who was nominated in six categories, followed by Ariana Grande and Post Malone , who were nominated in five categories. For most of the categories, viewers could vote on the MTV Europe Music Awards website.

In Germany, the program was broadcast on November 4, 2018 at 8 p.m. on MTV Germany and Nicknight as well as via livestream on the website tv.mtvema.com.
