Chloe x Halle is an American contemporary R&B duo, consisting of the sisters Chloe (born July 1, 1998) and Halle Bailey (born March 27, 2000). You were nominated for the 2019 Grammy Awards .
Career
Hailing from Atlanta , Georgia , the two sisters began posting covers of popular songs on YouTube . Her version of Beyoncé's Pretty Hurts, in particular, was hit with over 15 million views. Among other things, Beyoncé himself became aware of it, whereby the two received a contract with the Parkwood Entertainment label in 2015 . They can be seen on Beyoncé's album Lemonade .
On April 29, 2016 they released their first EP with Sugar Symphony , with the song Drop they appeared at the BET Awards 2016.
The Rolling Stone lists her 2017 published Mixtape The Two of Us as one of the top 20 R & B albums of the year 2017. They wrote the song Grown as the theme song of the ABC series Grown-ish - a spin-off of the series Black-ish - in which the two play a leading role themselves.
Her debut album The Kids Are Alright was released on March 23, 2018. The song Warrior , which appeared on this album, also served as the soundtrack for the film The Time Puzzle .
At Super Bowl LIII on February 3, 2019 in Atlanta, they sang America the Beautiful before the game started , and their performance was well received.
Awards
Chloe x Halle were nominated for the NAACP Image Awards 2017, the BET Awards 2018, the MTV Video Music Awards 2018 and the MTV Europe Music Awards .
They were also nominated for the 2019 Grammy Awards in the categories of Best New Artist and Best Urban Contemporary Album .
