Franz Xaver Zahnbrecher (born November 23, 1882 in Aich, then district office Laufen ; † September 25, 1935 in Munich - Johanneskirchen ) was a German politician and from 1919 to 1924 a member of the Bavarian state parliament .

Life

Zahnbrecher was the eleventh child of the Aicher farmers Johann and Rosalie Zahnbrecher. After attending elementary school in Otting , he went to the Dom-Gymnasium Freising , where he graduated from high school in 1902. He then studied theology, history and political science at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich and graduated in 1906 with a doctorate. phil. from. He completed his second degree in economics with a doctorate. oec. publ. During his second degree he also worked as the central secretary of the farmers' associations. From 1907 to 1908 he was the association secretary of the Bavarian State Association of Agricultural Loan Funds. On June 19, 1911, he married Stefanie Edelbauer in Salzburg Cathedral ; the marriage had three children. From 1911 to 1914 he was the syndic of the Association of the Bavarian Metal Industry in Nuremberg-Fürth. At the First World War toothbreaker participated as a volunteer.

After the end of the war, he sat in the Bavarian State Parliament from 1919 as a member of the Bavarian People's Party for the constituencies Berchtesgaden - Laufen, Traunstein - Prien, to which he belonged until 1924. While he was a member of parliament he was editor of various agricultural journals. After leaving the state parliament, he withdrew from politics and turned to the establishment of settlements, in particular the Munich-Johanneskirchen settlement known as the “Zahnbrecher-Siedlung”, which was associated with some difficulties.

Zahnbrecher was held in 1934 as a " protective prisoner " in Dachau concentration camp , but was released again in August 1934. On September 25, 1935, he collapsed while talking to a settler.
