Otting is a district of the municipality of Waging am See in the Traunstein district in Upper Bavaria. It lies between Waging, Traunwalchen and Kammer .
history
In 749, Bishop Virgilius of Salzburg consecrated the Ottinger Church, built by Chiemgaugrafen Gunther, and the newly founded monastery. The Ottinger Church is thus one of the original churches in the area. Otting belonged to the Prince Bishopric of Salzburg and its court Tetelheim (Tettelham) until 1803 . The Otting parish also included parts of the neighboring electoral Bavaria. Otting came to Bavaria with the Rupertiwinkel in 1805/1816. With the regional reform, the political municipality Otting, founded in 1818, was incorporated into Waging am See on January 1, 1972 .
The Schlossberg of Tettelham is located near Otting .
