The Schlossberg von Tettelham is a 597 m high hill above the village of Tettelham near Otting in the municipality of Waging in the Upper Bavarian district of Traunstein . The Schlossberg offers wide views, especially to the south and east. On the towering hill is the castle stables of Obertettelham Castle with remains of masonry and a chapel built in 1947.
history
Obertettelham Castle was the seat of the Lords of Tettelham, who were ministerials (servants) of the Counts of Kraiburg and later the Counts of Plain . In 1343 it was acquired by the Salzburg Archbishop Ortolf von Weißeneck and later the seat of a court. After a fire, the castle was rebuilt around 1505 under Archbishop Leonhard von Keutschach . In 1697 the care court was moved to Waging and the castle was left to decay.
