Wolfgang M. Schröder

Wolfgang M. Schröder (born July 20, 1968 in Saarlouis ) is a German philosopher .

Life

He completed his studies (1987–1994) in philosophy , Catholic theology and art history in Tübingen and Rome as a Cand. theol. at the University of Tübingen , then in 1992 as a Bacc. theol. (summa cum laude) and in 1994 as Lic. phil. (summa cum laude) with Xavier Tilliette at the Pontificia Università Gregoriana . In 2002, he received his doctorate from the University of Tübingen. phil. (summa cum laude) with Otfried Höffe , the doctoral award of the University of Tübingen and the 2007 habilitation(venia legendi) in philosophy. His academic teachers included Klaus Hartmann (philosopher, 1925) , Eberhard Jüngel , John Carew Eccles , Dietrich Ritschl , Rüdiger Bubner and Manfred Frank .

From 2003 to 2008 Schröder was a member of the WIN-Kolleg of the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences (HAW), Paul Kirchhof research group . In 2005 he was a SIAS Fellow at the Yale Law School in New Haven, and in 2006 he was a SIAS Fellow at the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin . In 2007/2008 he was a professor for theoretical philosophy at the University of Tübingen. In 2009/2010 he taught as a lecturer in practical philosophy at the Ruhr University in Bochum . In 2011/2012 he was a professor for practical philosophy at the University of Tübingen. From 2010 to 2015 he was a Dilthey Fellow of the Fritz Thyssen Foundation at the University of Tübingen. Since 2015 he has been teaching as a professor of philosophy at the University of Würzburg . His main research areas include not only European Studies , the Political Theory and Philosophy of Law , artificial intelligence ethically, of transhumanism and Richard Wagner as a musical aestheticians.

He has been a member of the Graduate School of the Humanities in Würzburg since 2017 . Since 2018 he has been a member of the Würzburg Scientific Society, member of the DIN working committee "Artificial Intelligence" (NA 043-01-42 AA) at the German Institute for Standardization , also German Expert in ISO / IEC JTC 1 / SC 42 / WG 1, International Organization for Standardization and board member of the Charter Digital Networking eV under the patronage of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy . Since 2019 he has been a member of the technical advisory board "Technology in Dialog" in the Association of German Engineers (VDI).
