Niels P. Petersson

Niels P. Petersson (* 1968 ) is a German historian .

Petersson studied contemporary history, philosophy and political science in Tübingen and Aix-en-Provence . In 1999 he received his doctorate on the subject of European imperialism and the modernization policy in East Asia under Jürgen Osterhammel at the FernUniversität in Hagen . From 1999 to 2007 he worked as a research assistant at the Chair for Modern and Contemporary History at the University of Konstanz . From 2003 to 2008, Petersson was a member of the research project “Legitimacy of a European Constitution under the Conditions of National Constitutional Traditions”. From 2007 to 2009 he was the scientific coordinator for young academics and the doctoral program “Zeitkulturen” in the Cluster of Excellence at the University of Konstanz. He has been teaching at Sheffield Hallam University since 2009 .
