Margaret (born June 30, 1991 in Stargard Szczeciński ; real name Małgorzata Jamroży ) is a Polish pop singer and blogger.

biography

The Polish Małgorzata Jamroży first became known on the Internet through her own fashion blog . From 2011 she appeared on the net as a singer and posted cover versions of various hits online on a YouTube channel.

She had her breakthrough as a singer in 2013 at the age of 21. Universal had signed her, and director Chris Marrs Piliero, who had also worked with Britney Spears and Kesha , staged a nudist party for her debut single Thank You Very Much . Despite the pixelation, the video was blocked on YouTube , which really attracted her attention. After the video was then accessed over 100,000 times on Vimeo in a short time, YouTube also released the video again. In the months that followed, the official video was clicked almost three million times there alone. On June 21, the song was released as a single and entered the German charts.

In August 2014, their first album, Add the Blonde, was released. The producers of the album are Joakim Buddee, Martin Eriksson and Ant Whiting. The long player contains 14 tracks, including the singles Wasted , Start a Fire , the official song of the 2014 Men's Volley World Championship , and Heartbeat . Add the Blonde was awarded platinum in Poland.

She was named Best Polish Artist at the renowned MTV Europe Music Awards 2015 .

On March 5, 2016, she took part in the program Krajowe Eliminacje 2016 , the Polish preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song Cool Me Down . She took second place behind Michał Szpak and ahead of Edyta Górniak with 24.72% of all votes cast.

On November 28, 2017, her participation in the Swedish ESC preliminary round Melodifestivalen 2018 with the song In My Cabana was announced. She reached the final and ended up in 7th place out of 28 participants.
