Lo & Leduc are a Swiss dialect - pop duo from Bern . They had their breakthrough in 2014 with the album Zucker fürs Volk .

Career

Lo & Leduc met when the Bernese dialect ensemble Pacomé was founded in 2005 . When Luc Oggier, the singer and rapper of the large band, was absent for six months in 2007 due to voice problems, Lorenz Häberli stepped in as a replacement and then remained a permanent member.

When Pacomé released the first album in 2009, there were still so many songs left that the two rappers, then called Lo & Luc , also released their own album called Update 1.0 as a free download. Update 2.0 followed just six months later, also free of charge via the Internet. The third album was released in 2012 and was produced more elaborately in the direction of danceable music. Even Update 3.0 was again freely available and thanks to songs like robbers u Poli , also known as YouTube was released video, a success.

In the same year, planning began for the first commercial album by Lo & Leduc, who both studied German and history in addition to music. Eventually it became a collaboration with Dodo as producer, who had already worked successfully with Steff la Cheffe . It took until the spring of 2014 until the album was finished. With the previously published single All die Büecher they reached number 42 in the single charts , the album Zucker fürs Volk climbed to number 3 after it was released in April and reached its highest position a week later at number 2. It stayed in the charts all year and returned to the top ten in early 2015 after the song Jung damn became a top 3 hit. The single and album achieved platinum status.

At the Swiss Music Awards 2015, Lo & Leduc were the performers with the most nominations (Best Group, Best Live Act and Best Talent). They won the award in all three categories and were the second performers after Stress 2008 to win three awards in one year.

The final breakthrough came in March 2018 with the single 079 . The song reached number 1 on the Swiss charts . At the beginning of August they exceeded the previous record with 21 number 1 weeks. The song was also awarded 6 times platinum .

On April 11, 2019, the US-Spanish animated film Willkommen im Wunder Park was released in cinemas, in which Lo & Leduc lend the beaver duo Gus & Cooper the German voices with a Swiss accent.
